DAY 1:

Cusco to Checacupe, Hike to Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain

The tour initiates with hotel pick-up at 06:00 hours, followed by transport to the Checacupe village. A stop is made to observe an Inca and a colonial bridge, and for the purchase of supplies. The journey continues for one hour to the base camp. A short uphill walk, lasting 30 to 45 minutes, leads to the Palcoyo Pass (4,880 meters/16,000 feet). This location provides panoramic views of three Rainbow Mountains, the Palccoyo peaks, the Ausangate mountain, and a stone forest. A one-hour period is allocated for photography and viewing.

The descent to the base camp follows the same route. Transport is provided to the Cusipata village for lunch. Following lunch, transport returns to Cusco, with drop-off at Regocijo Plaza at approximately 17:00 hours.

Walking time is approximately three hours, including a picnic lunch. The terrain includes open roads and ascending trails.
